When it comes to taking care of our beloved pets, we want to make sure that they are in the best hands possible. That's why so many pet owners turn to Doggy's Big Day for reliable and trustworthy service.
But what do you really know about us? Our processes and procedures? Why we do things and how we do them? Here are 5 things you may not have known about Doggy's Big Day.
1. How we got started in pet sitting/dog walking.
Our owner Linda Gregersen used to sell real estate and manage rental properties for many years before deciding to make a career change. When she discovered she could hike dogs and watch pets as a business, she decided to give it a go. She had a creative boyfriend at the time who came up with the name and brand for Doggy's Big Day and even had her car wrapped to look like a dog! Some of you who have been around a while, may remember the Arfmobile!
2. The importance of communication with our clients.
Communication is super duper important to us and our clients. That's why Linda brought on an amazing assistant Rebecca Potter to respond right away to client requests and questions during business hours while Linda is out hiking dogs. We also encourage our dog walkers and pet sitters to respond as quickly as possible to our clients. 3. Our approach to animal care.
Safety and compassion are our top priorities with the pets in our care. We train our staff to go in and out of doors carefully, keep dogs on-leash in parking lots and in neighborhoods, and to be familiar with pet first aid. We utilize as many positive reinforcement methods as possible when working with your pets and avoid aversive techniques at all costs. It's very important that we develop a healthy relationship with your pets and reinforce good behavior with affection, treats and praise.
4. How we handle emergency situations.
Fortunately, emergencies are few and far between, but if your pet were to get injured while in our care, you would immediately get contacted about the situation. We have your vet information on hand and will quickly get your pet to your preferred vet for care. Our staff is trained to contact our office in case of any emergency, so we can guide them through the steps necessary to remedy the situation. 5. What sets us apart from other pet sitters/dog walkers in the Salt Lake area.
We carefully vet each member of our team to make sure they have the skills and attributes necessary to make exceptional pet sitters and dog walkers. Our training procedures aim to create employees that offer consistent reliable service regardless of which teammate is caring for your pets. The more quality employees we have the more likely we are to be able to serve all of our clients and always offer them the same level of service they expect from us.
We hope that this post has given you a little taste of what it’s like to work with us and the level of care we provide our clients and their furry friends. We want to make sure both pet-parents and their animals are comfortable with us before, during, and after each service. If you have any questions or would like more information about our services, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
We can’t wait to help you take care of your beloved pet!
